Barcelona biotech funding to tackle leading cause of inherited intellectual disability
Connecta Therapeutics has raised $3.5 million to accelerate treatment for Fragile X syndrome, with trial results expected mid-2027.
The clinical-stage biotechnology company, which specializes in developing neuroplasticity modulators for central nervous system (CNS) disorders, will use the capital to advance its ongoing Phase IIa (NCT07654114) clinical trial of CTH120. CTH120 is the company's lead drug candidate for adult males living with Fragile X syndrome.
The financing round was led by new investor Clave Capital through its Innvierte Science Tech Clave Innohealth fund, with continued support from existing investors including Inveready, CDTI Innvierte, and Prous Institute for Biomedical Research.
