Thursday, Septemebr 10, the Bedford County School Board took the next step in school redistricting when Chris Dick, the consultant the School Board hired for the process, met with the Board at their regular monthly meeting. Dick is president and founder of Demographic Analytics Advisors (DAA).
Bedford County Public Schools have seen declining enrollment for the past two decades. Enrollment is down to 8,500 students. Enrollment is uneven.Some schools are packed. Others — Stewartsville, Huddleston, Otter River and Big Island are underutilized. The northeast part of the county is the most developed.
