CordenPharma, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical and biotech products, broke ground this week on a $200 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in North Augusta, South Carolina.
Gov. Henry McMaster attended the groundbreaking for the facility, which is expected to bring more than 200 jobs to the area.
The new facility, dedicated to manufacturing peptide Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients used in GLP-1 therapies and other medications, will add more than 68,000 square feet of purpose-built commercial manufacturing space. CordenPharma recently acquired AmbioPharm.
"Investments like this are critical to our state and to our country as we continue bringing more manufacturing back to America," McMaster posted on X following Tuesday's groundbreaking.
