FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- A crash around 10:30 Thursday night has brought traffic to a standstill on northbound I-69, just past Lima Road.
Public Safety Alert announcing crash on I69. At around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, police and medics were called to the scene of a crash on I-69 near the 311 mile marker. Police are working to shut down the interstate, forcing northbound traffic to detour onto southbound Lima Road.
Fort Wayne Dispatch confirmed a person was injured, but details are limited at this time.
At around 10:45 p.m., a public safety alert was sent out warning drivers to avoid the area.
Police say that the northbound lanes of I-69 are expected to remain shut down for the next several hours.
