According to reports, in February, the men lured socialites, fashion models, and business contacts to a $1.5 million mansion in Smithland, KY, claiming it was a crypto networking event. The event reportedly turned chaotic amid heavy drug use, with witnesses claiming the hosts made alarming statements about kidnapping and killing a German man for his crypto assets, while displaying paranoid behavior. Separate from these events, Woeltz was arrested in May after an Italian man escaped from a New York City apartment where he had been held captive for over two weeks. Authorities allege Woeltz lured the victim under false pretenses, then subjected him to physical abuse, including tasering, choking with an AirTag, and threatening with weapons, all documented through disturbing photographs.
