In 11 days on Peacock, Crystal Lake drew 1.3 billion minutes watched. That figure, released Tuesday, makes the Friday the 13th prequel the fourth-biggest scripted original debut in the streamer’s history.
All eight episodes arrived at once on October 15, so the count comes from a full-season drop rather than a weekly release. It is also the first Friday the 13th screen entry since the 2009 remake.
The Three Debuts Still Ahead of It
The Best Man: The Final Chapters, All Her Fault and the first season of The Five Star Weekend are the only Peacock scripted originals that opened larger. Sprout social data put the show’s first 24 hours at 1.8 billion earned social impressions.
The Hockey Mask Sat This One Out
The season holds back the franchise’s most recognizable object. Jason wears a burlap sack instead, since the story stops short of Friday the 13th Part III, and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane laid that out before the premiere. Linda Cardellini‘s Pamela Voorhees carries the eight episodes, and every kill in them was built in front of the camera. Keeping the mask in the box for a whole season looked like a risk, and the viewing figure says it was not one.
