Dangerous Heat and Humidity Continue Through Saturday Evening

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 7 p.m. Saturday as dangerous heat and humidity continue to grip the area. The combination of record-breaking temperatures and high humidity this late in the summer season poses a serious threat for heat illness, especially during outdoor activities.

The greatest risk for heat-related illness will be between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day through Saturday. During these hours, heat index values will approach or exceed 100 degrees, making it feel significantly hotter than the actual temperature.

Expect mostly sunny skies with hot and humid conditions. The high will reach 98 degrees, with the heat index climbing to 102-107 degrees during the afternoon hours. A stray thunderstorm is possible, but most of the day will remain dry. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low of 73 degrees.
