'Deeply hurt and feeling lost' Family mourns father killed in Pasco shooting

Family and friends are mourning a 22-year-old father after he was killed near a Pasco restaurant Saturday morning.

Jose D. Hernandez, 22, was shot multiple times about 1:20 a.m. outside La Fonda Colima. The father was attending an event at the restaurant. There are reports that it was tied to Halloween.

The death shocked his sister, Rubi Hernandez, who started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses. He leaves behind siblings, children and parents who are grieving, she wrote.

"If you got the chance to meet him you knew he was nice, respectful and genuinely caring," she wrote. "That is how so many of us will remember him."
