Democratic Representative Sarah McBride from Delaware recently revealed in a new interview clip that many voters perceive the Democratic Party as unfriendly and believe it doesn't care for them. This acknowledgment emerges amid rising unfavorable opinions of Democrats among registered voters, as highlighted by a Wall Street Journal poll published on July 25.
The survey indicated that 63% of registered voters view the Democratic Party negatively, an increase from 58% in April. The comments by McBride were made during an interview with Dasha Burns, Politico’s White House bureau chief, previewing the program “The Conversation,” which is set to air fully on Sunday.
McBride stated, “I think voters feel like Democrats have been dismissive or even hostile towards them.” She explained that voters typically ask two questions when choosing candidates: whether the candidate or party likes them, and whether they respect and care for them. She emphasized, “If the first question isn’t answered satisfactorily, voters don’t even consider the second.”
These remarks follow previous criticisms of congressional Democrats for their silence during a notable moment in President Donald Trump’s March ad...
