Jerry Motley, aged 39, received the life sentence on charges including first-degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder, felony firearm possession, and unlawful use of a dangerous weapon during the incident that resulted in the death of Thomas Badke, owner of Reliable Fence. Motley was also implicated in shooting a coworker, Angelo Micale, who survived.
According to prosecutors, on January 9, 2018, Motley arrived at his workplace armed with a firearm, shot Micale twice, and then killed Badke. He fled the scene but was apprehended hours later.
