PHOENIX — After the Phoenix Mercury's victory over the Indiana Fever on Thursday, guard DeWanna Bonner opened up about her recent struggles with her love for basketball during the post-game press conference.
Bonner's Journey Back to Joy in the Game
A seasoned player with 16 years of experience, Bonner joined the Mercury last month following her release from the Fever a few weeks earlier. Reflecting on her journey, she shared how challenging it was to find joy in playing again.
"Emotions are quite intense right now. Honestly, it’s been a process to rediscover happiness on the court," she stated, as noted in the team’s post-game report. "For a while, basketball wasn’t really on my mind."
