What if a trip to the sandbox came with remote-controlled excavators, digital landscapes and enough sand to dig without worrying about the Texas weather?
That’s now a reality right here in Plano. Digger’s Cove officially opened its indoor sand playground Sept. 4 at 7200 Independence Parkway, Suite 238, giving children 10 and under a year-round place to dig, build and explore.
The opening comes months after plans for the massive indoor sand play space were first announced.
The attraction centers around four play areas: a large sand pit, a remote-control construction zone, an animated sandbox and an interactive creative wall.
More Than A Sandbox
In the construction zone, kids can use joysticks to operate construction vehicles through the sand. Elsewhere, the animated sandbox responds as children reshape the sand, projecting mountains, rivers and changing landscapes in real time.
At the interactive creative wall, kids can color their own designs, scan them and watch their creations appear digitally on a large screen. Even the sand itself received some extra attention.
