Downtown Lynchburg to celebrate first-ever Dolly Day

Lynchburg, Va. — Downtown Lynchburg is going full Dolly Parton on Sept. 25 for the first-ever Downtown Dolly Day.

More than a dozen downtown businesses are joining in, with Dolly-inspired food, drinks, shopping, crafts and entertainment planned throughout the day.

There will be plenty of ways to celebrate.

At Cafe Monte Bello, you can grab a Cup of Ambition. Hill City Donuts will have strawberry-glazed Dolly donuts, while The Maple Leaf Tea Room is serving up pimento cheese sandwiches made with Dolly's special recipe, potato soup, Watermelon Hibiscus Iced Tea and maple banana mini muffins.

If you're looking for something with a little more sparkle, Uno Mas will have a pink rhinestone cocktail, Hueso Loco will offer a Backwoods Barbie specialty cocktail and Waterstone will have a Dolly cocktail, along with a coloring sheet for kids.

Shopping downtown will have a Dolly twist, too.

Shay's Unique Gifts is offering 50% off clothing, while Laney Kickz will take 10% off anything pink. Threaded Collective will have a Dolly-inspired clothing rack, and Wild Grove Florals will offer pink bouquets inspired by the country music icon.
