Downtown Spokane Celebrates Summer Safety Week with Community Engagement Events
From August 4 to 8, downtown Spokane will host Summer Safety Week, highlighting the dedicated efforts of the Downtown Ambassadors, as announced by the Downtown Spokane Partnership. Managed by the Business Improvement District (BID), these Ambassadors assist local businesses, visitors, and residents by providing safety and support services.
In 2024, their team responded to approximately 4,500 service requests and established nearly 4,000 community connections. This year alone, they have already conducted close to 7,000 safety interactions, emphasizing their ongoing commitment.
Throughout the week, the community will receive safety tips via social media platforms to enhance public awareness. The event's centerpiece is the National Night Out Against Crime on August 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., on Wall Street. Attendees will have the chance to interact with police officers, Ambassadors, and Park Rangers, learn about bicycle and wheel safety, and enjoy various games and refreshments.
