Drake's mysterious "FOMO" project has finally premiered - and it turned out to be more than a short film.
"Fear of Missing Out" dropped Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 9 p.m. ET on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple, as promised. Drake had billed it as "self-funded surrealism," a story about making the most of one summer, following weeks of cryptic teasers involving old family photos, a CD jewel case, and a neon-green speedboat.
The premiere delivered on that build-up. The project featured new music videos woven into its narrative, including a surprising interpolation of Ella Langley's country hit "Choosin' Texas," and a scene bringing back a "goth girl" cameo for a track called "Princess." Fans who'd spent a month guessing between an album, a tour, and a documentary got a mix of all three: shortly after the film's release, Drake confirmed a new world tour is coming in 2027.
Hours before the drop, Drake posted a reflective message to fans, framing the project around choice - telling followers that no one is coming to save them, and to spend each day figuring out who they love and trust before moving forward.
