Draymond Green has spent most of his NBA career understanding what it takes to make an impact on defense without necessarily showing up in the box score. That is a reason why he has a pretty good idea of how certain players can change a game with their physical ability alone.
Recently, the Golden State Warriors star was making NBA and NFL comparisons on his podcast when another NBA star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, came to mind. For Green, the former Milwaukee Bucks forward shares some of the same physical traits and mentality as Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett.
Many could feel that this would not be the obvious comparison. Giannis is a two-time MVP, a Defensive Player of the Year and a Finals MVP who scored 50 points in the game that gave Milwaukee its first championship in 50 years in 2021.
Garrett, on the other hand, has built his reputation by making life difficult for quarterbacks from the defensive line. But still, Green sees something similar in the way both athletes use their physical gifts.
