Dune: Awakening Console Head Start Begins Today
Developer and publisher Funcom® today finally opened the gates to Arrakis on PlayStation® 5 and XBOX as head start commenced for owners of the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition. The open-world survival game inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune and Legendary Entertainment and Denis Villeneuve’s blockbuster film franchise will see its official console release next Tuesday, September 22nd.
Just in time for gamers to learn the ways of the Fremen before Dune: Part Three arrives in cinemas on December 18th.
At the same time, Funcom launched one of the most important updates yet to the game on PC. The console version includes today’s update, as well as every addition, enhancement, and improvement introduced over the past year. Dune: Awakening launched on PC in June last year and saw 189,000 concurrent players on Steam and quickly became the fastest-selling Funcom to date as well as one of the biggest releases on Steam in 2025.
To celebrate the launch of the new update, Dune: Awakening is now available at a 50% discount on Steam, our deepest one yet, lasting until October 8th.
