E-bike rider dies weeks after Southeast Portland car crash

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) — A bicyclist died Sunday, nearly three weeks after a car hit him in Southeast Portland, police said.

Christopher Orling, 43, died from injuries he suffered in the Sept. 2 crash, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Officers were called around 12:50 p.m. to Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Raymond Street, where they found Orling badly hurt after a car hit him while he was riding an electric bike. Paramedics took him to a nearby hospital.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. Investigators have not filed criminal charges against the driver.
