Eames Institute Announces Plans for New Museum and Campus in Novato, California

The Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity has unveiled plans to establish a comprehensive museum and campus dedicated to the legendary design duo, Charles and Ray Eames. Located in Novato, California, on a site previously occupied by Birkenstock and McGraw-Hill, the new facility aims to celebrate their enduring influence on design. Renowned architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, known for landmarks like the Beijing National Stadium, will design the space. Llisa Demetrios, the Institute's chief curator, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "Sharing my grandparents' vision with the world is a great honor. Their relentless curiosity and innovative approach to problem-solving through design are at the heart of our mission, and this expansion will enable us to reach a broader community."
