Only Eight Days Remaining to Access Tax Relief Measures, Warns the Egyptian Tax Authority
The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) has issued a reminder that taxpayers have just eight days left to benefit from the tax relief initiatives introduced under Law No. 5 of 2025, enacted on February 12 as part of the government's initial set of tax incentives.
In a statement released on Monday, the ETA outlined that the law provides various benefits, including the resolution of tax disputes dating before January 1, 2020; the opportunity to file assessments and settle taxes related to real estate transactions or dealings in unlisted securities from the past five years; and the submission of original or amended tax returns for income from 2020 to 2023, as well as VAT declarations from 2020 to 2024.
The Authority highlighted that these measures aim to resolve pending issues, reduce taxpayer burdens, and promote voluntary compliance. This initiative fosters a collaborative environment based on trust and certainty, also supporting the formalization of the informal economy and aligning with national development objectives.
