Kansas City Chiefs running back Emmett Johnson did a little bit of everything Sunday in a 28-24 loss to the Denver Broncos. Johnson caught five passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. He had just one carry, but he took it 15 yards. He also had a 44-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter to give the team good field position in an attempt for the comeback win.

Johnson has played sparingly behind running back Kenneth Walker III. Walker is in the midst of a monster season but has been contained in two straight weeks. The Seattle Seahawks held him to 14 carries for 36 yards. The Broncos contained him to 69 yards rushing on 21 carries Sunday.
Johnson had 109 receiving yards entering the Week 8 game, and he eclipsed that number against Denver. Of the seven games Johnson has played this season, he has at least two receptions in five of them.
After his Week 8 performance, we’ll see if Johnson becomes a bigger part of the offense when the Chiefs return home to face the New York Jets Sunday.
