Enphase IQ Meter Collar Receives SDG& E Approval for Energy Storage Installations

Energy technology firm Enphase Energy, Inc. announced on Monday that San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has approved their IQ Meter Collar for behind-the-meter setups within its service area. The IQ Meter Collar is a crucial element of Enphase's latest fourth-generation battery system, which includes the IQ Battery 10C, IQ Meter Collar, and IQ Combiner 6C. Kent Harle, CEO of Stellar Solar—an installer of Enphase products in San Diego—noted that the IQ Meter Collar significantly streamlines energy storage installations by reducing the need for additional components and wiring, thereby accelerating setup times and lowering costs. Ramon Brizo, a technical and sales specialist at Sunlight Solar Inc., also highlighted the benefits, stating that eliminating the rewiring into backup sub-panels enhances efficiency and enables providers to serve more customers swiftly. This approval enables homeowners within SDG&E's territory to benefit from the advanced energy storage technology, supporting the region's transition to more efficient renewable energy solutions.
