This past Saturday, Tennessee football hit the road to square off with ACC foe Georgia Tech. The game was broadcast to a national audience on ESPN in the 7 p.m. ET window. While it had to compete with Texas-Ohio State (which was the most-watched regular-season game on ESPN networks in over a decade) that hogged 14 million viewers, it still performed well.
Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech clocked in at 1.8 million viewers, according to a report from Adam Schefter. This included a peak of 2.6 million viewers.
Ultimately, this was the fifth-most-viewed game on the ESPN network this past Saturday. Along with Texas-Ohio State, Alabama-Kentucky, Arizona State-Texas A&M and Oregon-Oklahoma State also performed at a higher clip.
With 14 million viewers, Ohio St. vs. Texas was ESPN’s most-watched regular-season college football game in 10 years.
