Bethesda has planned Raven Rock, a major Fallout 76 expansion and prequel story to Fallout 3, for 2027.

Fallout 76 is set to receive a major expansion called Raven Rock in 2027, with Bethesda describing it as “a prequel story to Fallout 3”. It is a new chapter for the long-running online RPG, rather than Fallout 5, which remains in the early stages of production.

Bethesda said Fallout 76 “continues to be home to millions of players exploring Appalachia together”, adding that its journey is far from over after nearly 70 free updates. “In fact, we have a major Fallout 76 expansion planned for next year: Raven Rock, a prequel story to Fallout 3.”

That framing gives Raven Rock a particularly direct connection to Fallout 3. Fallout 76 sits much earlier in the series chronology, set around 175 years before the Capital Wasteland adventure, so there is a considerable stretch of history between its Appalachian setting and the story Raven Rock is being positioned alongside.
