Volunteer firefighters in Caddo County have been fighting a wildfire near Gracemont for over a week, facing intense conditions and receiving vital support from their community.
“So, we all got an all-call on Sunday, so everybody that was in this area got called out. We went out on Sunday, and we kind of fought it basically every day,” said Crow Roost fire Chief Tiffani Bradford.
Bradford said her department has 13 volunteers, but not all of them can leave their jobs to fight fires. Her husband and son were among those who joined the effort.
“The heat is intense. The ash, the smoke, and just the widespread of everything. It definitely did take the whole community and everyone else to get in there,” Bradford said.
