In December 2023, Niles firefighter-paramedic Jon Hutchens safely delivered Simon Malik at Emily Defrancheschi’s home in Niles. On Friday, Sept. 11, Defrancheschi brought her family, including Simon, now 2, to visit Hutchens at Niles Fire Station 2 on Dempster Street.
