Fiji Partnership to Promote Gender Inclusivity and Rural Energy Access
The Fiji Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has entered into a significant partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to promote gender inclusivity and enhance rural energy access across the nation.
Initiative Details and Certification
Through a formal Memorandum of Understanding, FCCC has become the pioneer public agency in Fiji to pursue the UNDP’s Gender Equality Seal for Public Institutions. This certification aims to foster organizational systems that bolster inclusivity and equitable participation, especially for women and marginalized groups.
Alignment with National Policies
This initiative aligns with Fiji’s National Gender Policy and international commitments to gender equality. FCCC Chief Executive Senikavika Jiuta emphasized the agency’s commitment to integrating gender considerations into its daily functions.
