Fillmore County offers measles vaccinations after confirmed case

FILLMORE COUNTY, Minn. (KTTC) – Fillmore County announced Saturday it will host a Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccination clinic for residents, after a case was confirmed in the county earlier this week.

The clinic will cost $5 per person, or free for those covered by Minnesota Health Care Program Insurance (Medicare/Medicaid). Those concerned about costs can call 507-765-2642 to speak with county staff. If you have private insurance, contact your healthcare provider to receive service.

The vaccination is authorized for as early as 6- to 12-month-olds. According to the county, pregnant women are ineligible for the vaccination.

The clinic will take place on Thursday, September 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fillmore County Office Building in Preston. Patients will be able to go to Lower-Level Room 108. The county asks patients to park in the lower-level lot and enter Door 2.
