The Chick-fil-A off of Nashville Road hosted its 5th annual First Responders Night tonight, making its parking lot more crowded than usual.
The Nashville Road Chick-fil-A franchise invited every first responder department in Bowling Green to participate. The Kentucky State Police, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Bowling Green Police Department, the Warren County Sheriff, the Bowling Green Fire Department and Emergency Medical Technicians all showed up to the event.
“We do a lot of these community events and it’s always a goal to get out there and to be seen and to let children and people know that we’re out here to help you,” Amber Kae Bowman, a BGPD officer, said.
Blake Stewart, from the Department of Operations at Chick-fil-A, said that the event took off after BGPD officer Matt Davis was shot in the line of duty in 2023.
“We turned this into a fundraiser for him,” Stewart said. “Since then, we’ve had a lot of community support whenever we’ve done this event.”
Many families came to the event with their young children. Kristy Kieffer brought her daughter.
“She loves the cow,” Kieffer said.
