NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Coming to college is a different experience for everyone. While the transition can be good or bad, most new students have their own “welcome to college” moment, and everyone’s experience is different. Here are some of the responses from this year’s incoming class. Students were asked about what their welcome to college moment was; they responded:
Student A: “I have actually to study, and the knowledge just doesn’t come to me, especially in my major courses.”
Some students have to study really hard because the material doesn’t stick as easily as it did in high school, but college is a different situation.
Student B: “Losing my keys the first week, having to get them replaced, and still wondering where I lost them to this day.”
Coming to college brings a lot of new responsibilities and more freedom, so students have to be harder on themselves.
Student C: “Having to figure out how to balance being an athlete and keeping up with my academics. College has made me realize how important it is to manage my time between practices, games, classes, and everything else that comes with being a student-athlete.”
