Area residents are invited to hit the road and explore local farms and small businesses this weekend.
The second annual Choose Iowa Fall Crawl will be held today and tomorrow. Around 125 Choose Iowa members across the state are signed up to participate, including some in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
The program is administered by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and highlights products that are grown, made and raised in Iowa for food, beverages and agriculture-related items. IDALS lists five businesses that are participating in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area. Over half of those are in Dallas County, including Brewer Family Farms in Dallas Center, Spring Valley Honey Farms in Perry and Tripple Berry Farm/Outlaw Bacon in Linden. In Greene County, Deal’s Orchard and Krieger’s Greenhouses and Greene Goods Market, both of Jefferson, are taking part in the open houses.
