Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway Shows Promising Recovery in Return to Practice
GAINESVILLE, FL— Florida Gators' emerging quarterback DJ Lagway continues to make encouraging strides in his recovery, following a period of injury setbacks this offseason. After participating in throwing drills during a public practice session on Saturday—his first such appearance—Lagway's progress has been noted positively.
Head coach Billy Napier commented on Lagway's return, mentioning, "It was beneficial for the media to witness his activity. Perhaps it provided more reassurance to them than to anyone else."
Lagway has been battling multiple injuries, including lingering shoulder and hamstring strains from previous injuries, as well as a hernia. Recently, he was seen wearing a protective boot due to a minor calf injury but has since recovered from that and remains classified as day-to-day by the team. Coach Napier expressed confidence, stating, "We've observed his hard work throughout the summer. Despite a minor setback with the calf, he's on the right path. His recent public throwing session has generated excitement, and we hope to see him progress further each day."
