A weekend football game between two teams of 8-year-olds in Winter Haven, Florida, turned into an all-out brawl among the adults in attendance. The fight only ended once deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrived and broke up the crowd.
The altercation reportedly began when a parent struck the opposing team's coach in the head after a game that ended in a 16-0 shutout. By the end of things, dozens of people were on the field screaming and throwing punches.
The incident took a stranger turn when deputies were told the fight may have started over parents betting on the game. The sheriff's office is now looking into those claims, though investigators say they have no evidence of gambling so far.
Things at the football game got wild According to The Independent , a video was taken of the brawl, which showed both children and adults out in the middle of the football field. Screaming and yelling can be heard, while children in football gear run back and forth through the crowd. A few thrown punches can also be seen, and one person appeared to be holding a baseball bat. Some people in the video are trying to separate the others who are fighting.
