Flynn Center celebrates back-to-school season by bringing theater to districts across Vermont
The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts is celebrating back-to-school season by bringing theater to school sports fields across Vermont.
The center marks a new school year with a free, traveling show called Playing Fields.
"Have you ever seen anything like this before? No!" said Finlee and Oakley, two Georgia Elementary and Middle School students.
The Flynn may be located in Burlington, but the show is enjoyed in places far beyond that during its two-week annual tour.
"It's kind of becoming a school community tradition here at GEMS," said co-principal Melissa Fisher.
On Wednesday night, the giant fish and eel, part of "The Pearl" performance, swam its way up to Georgia Elementary and Middle School with a special eight-armed guest. Hundreds of students and parents were there to enjoy it.
"Each show is just so unique," said Fisher. "It's been great to have them continue to come back. They're very excited."
"I was chasing all of the animals," said Iris, a 4-year-old Vermonter.
