SHREVEPORT, La. -- A former Caddo Parish jail escapee had his first appearance in court Thursday following his arrest Tuesday night after eight days on the run.
Tre'veon Jackson, 24, was picked up from Harrison County, Texas, and taken to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana in Shreveport. He's being held in federal custody in the Bossier Maximum Security Jail in Plain Dealing, U.S. Marshal Brian Barber told KTBS.
Jackson is charged with carjacking with serious bodily injury in connection to the incident that happened after he escaped from a Caddo Parish sheriff's jailer on Sept. 14 during a medical transport at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport.
Jackson will be charged with any additional offenses committed while he was on the run, Barber said.
"We know he stole one vehicle and we believe there were other crimes," Barber said.
