Louisiana juvenile justice specialist arrested for allegedly smuggling vapes into facility
MONROE — A juvenile justice worker was arrested after officials found contraband she allegedly brought into Swanson Center for Youth, according to Louisiana's Office of Juvenile Justice.
Kierra Clark, a 29-year-old Vicksburg, Mississippi, resident, was taken into custody at about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to authorities.
A tip led to a routine security search, during which officials say they found three electronic vapes on Clark. The contraband was confiscated immediately.
Officers informed Clark of her Miranda rights and transported her to the Ouachita Correctional Center, where she was booked. She faces charges for possessing contraband in a state correctional institution and malfeasance in office.
Clark had worked for the Office of Juvenile Justice since March as a Juvenile Justice Specialist. Her employment ended immediately after her arrest.
