Dalitso Kabambe, the former governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, has officially announced his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election. Kabambe, who served as the central bank's head from 2017 to 2020, expressed his determination to lead the nation, stating, "I'm here to fight. We are here to compete as a party, and we believe we can secure victory in this election." He revealed that his running mate for the September vote is Malawian entrepreneur Matthews Mtumbuka, a decision announced on July 27. Kabambe's bid comes amidst political competition as he seeks to succeed the current leadership in Malawi.
