Forum on mail voting, voter ID, Electoral College set for Merrill

Nonpartisan discussion set for Oct. 7 in Lincoln County

MERRILL, Wis. (WSAW) - Community members in Lincoln County will have an opportunity to examine competing approaches to election reform during a free public forum next month.

The forum will center on how Americans should address concerns about elections while balancing accessibility, security, accuracy, fairness and public confidence.

T.B. Scott Free Library, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of the Northwoods, will host the nonpartisan discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m.

Eric Giordano, executive director of the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service, will serve as moderator. Giordano has experience facilitating public dialogue on public policy, civic engagement and democratic participation. Organizers said the session aims to explore the potential benefits, drawbacks, risks and trade-offs of various election policies rather than advocating for a single measure.
