Fourth Graders look to the future

Fourth graders at Eureka Elementary School wrote essays about their future professions and gave oral presentations in front of their peers. Needless to say, they were a bit nervous at first. However, with the support of their classmates, they did a great job.

There was a wide variety of careers ranging from astronaut (Jaxon Williams) to zoologist (Carter Cary).

A future marine biologist (Raylan Spiker) wrote, “Just imagine hanging out with the velvet belly lantern shark – if you can find one.” Logan Walls (a future lineman) commented, “I enjoy the outdoors and I would make really good money.”

“I would love to study bones. The history of dinosaurs is very interesting,” said Kayleigh Van Lenten (a future paleontologist).

Several students aspire to be professional athletes one day. Others wanted to enter the medical field, the military, the police force or the entertainment business. But the number one profession was teacher. Some students chose to be an elementary education teacher, a physical education teacher, an art teacher and even one speech teacher (Aubrey Routt).
