It is with heavy hearts, yet with the peace and hope that comes through our faith in Jesus Christ, that we announce the passing of Frances Petty Chalmers, a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, who went home to heaven at the age of 73 in her home on September 29, 2026 in Fulshear, Texas.
Born in Trinity, Texas, Fran then was raised mostly in Winnfield, Louisiana before moving on to Woodville, Mississippi where she graduated in 1969 from Woodville High School in Woodville, MS. Fran graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University in 1973 at the age of 19 years old. She went on to marry the love of her life, Joel Chalmers, at the First United Methodist Church in Jasper, Texas in 1974. Fran worked as a computer analyst and consultant for multiple companies as her family moved around with Joel’s job at Unisys, all while also raising three kids and taking care of the household.
