Buena Vista Public Works Department, Friends of Browns Canyon, and GARNA will host a free electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sept. 26 at 755 Gregg Drive in Buena Vista.
A press release stated that accepted items include computer and accessories, laptops, flat screen monitors, cellphones, printers/copiers, credit machines, servers and networking equipment, tablets, camera, digital watches, home/car audio, remotes, satellite dishes, microwaves, lamps, fans, hair dryers/irons, electric movers, power tools, tool batteries and laptop batteries and other miscellaneous electric items.
Items not accepted include light bulbs of any kind, alkaline batteries, DVDs, VHS and cassette tapes, CDs, aerosol cans, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, chemicals and fluids, large appliances, paint, solar panels and pressurized canisters, the release stated.
Televisions and cathode ray tube monitors are accepted for a fee of $30.
Projection televisions are accepted for a fee of $50.
Payment must be made with cash only, credit cards will not be accepted.
