The Galesburg Area Vocational Center has launched its first Student Ambassador Group this year — five students Director Adam Seaney says he wants to be “the voice and the face of GAVC.” Seaney joined Galesburg’s Morning News Friday, Sept. 25, at the center’s facility at Galesburg Jr./Sr. High School, to talk about the new group, a new manufacturing course, and a recent student trip to a major trade show in Chicago, where students watched a robotic arm lift and rotate a full-size Corvette.
They talked about:
- GAVC’s new Student Ambassador Group and what students get out of it
- A new Principles of Manufacturing course, and continued growth in health occupations
- Highlights from GAVC’s trip to the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago
- Details on the Oct. 22 Manufacturing and Trades Showcase, and how schools can register
- Enrollment numbers and the nine schools GAVC draws students from
