Glenn Martens to Exit Diesel, Remain at Maison Margiela

Glenn Martens is set to leave Diesel following the brand’s Spring 2027 runway show during Milan Fashion Week, marking the end of his six-year tenure as creative director.

The Belgian designer will present his final collection for Diesel on Tuesday at 4 p.m. CET. The brand, part of the OTB Group, said a successor will be announced at a later date.

While Martens is departing Diesel, he will remain within the OTB family as creative director of Maison Margiela, a position he assumed in 2025 following the departure of John Galliano.

Martens joined Diesel as creative director in 2020 and quickly reshaped the brand with his experimental approach to denim, fashion and pop culture. His collections combined Diesel’s rebellious identity with distorted silhouettes, trompe-l’oeil effects, unconventional fabric treatments and a renewed focus on the brand’s Y2K-era aesthetic.
