Gov. Jeff Landry brought in $7 million at his 16th annual gator hunt fundraiser this weekend in his hometown of St. Martinville, according to a social media post Monday.
“This is a true testament to the work of this administration: making Louisiana safer, improving education, bringing down our insurance rates, creating a better legal environment, and bringing more than $260 billion in new capital investment to our State,” Landry wrote in a post on X from his campaign account.
Landry hosts an alligator hunt every year as a fundraiser that has drawn big names in conservative political circles, like FBI Director Kash Patel and Donald Trump Jr.
Attendees and event sponsors had the option to contribute amounts ranging from $12,000 to $100,000, according to the event website.
The money raised will be divided up among four different groups: Landry for Louisiana, Landry’s campaign political action committee; Cajun PAC II, Landry’s leadership PAC; Protect Louisiana Values, a social welfare nonprofit dedicated to advancing Landry’s policy agenda; and the Republican Party of Louisiana.
