Entered the fullness of Eternal Life on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of over 59 years to Denise (nee Scovel) and loving father to Bryna (John) Dulmes of Shorewood, WI, and Brendan (Samantha) McCarthy of Fargo, ND. Proud grandfather to Meaghan and Kacey. Was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret (nee Roche) McCarthy and the Dr. John Lane McCarthy and his cherished brother Gilbert John McCarthy. Nephew of the late Fr. Allan E. Roche and the late Fr. David P. Roche. Is further survived by his sister-in-law, Geraldine “Gerry” McCarthy of Gloucester, MA; nieces Stacy, Jessica, and Stephanie; other loving relatives; and dear friends.
Greg was born on April 6, 1943 in the suburbs of Boston, MA and by his late teens, was an American Red Cross certified instructor trainer for sailing, water safety, small craft, and first aid. Greg graduated from Arlington High School in 1960 and followed in the footsteps of his uncles to attend Boston College, earning a BS in Geology in 1964.
