Recall of Frozen Ground Beef Due to Metal Fragments
Health authorities have announced the recall of more than 1,000 pounds of frozen ground beef following reports of metal fragments found in the product. The affected beef, fully cooked and frozen, was produced by Ada Valley Meat Company and distributed to food service providers and suppliers across five states: California, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Details of the Recalled Product
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) indicated that the beef was packaged in 20-pound cardboard cartons. The recall specifically involves two lot codes:
- Lot 35156, packed on May 28, 2025
- Lot 35157, packed on May 30, 2025
Reason for Recall and Consumer Alerts
The concern arose after a consumer reported discovering metal pieces in the beef. No injuries or health issues have been linked to this product so far, FSIS confirmed.
