Hawkeyes look for premier road win against #18 Michigan

To open Big Ten play the Iowa Hawkeyes would have had a hard time drawing up a more difficult start than their first two games, at Michigan and vs Ohio State. After starting the season 3-0 in nonconference play, the Hawkeyes now begin that stretch. Michigan looms in Ann Arbor on Saturday.

"We live for stuff like this you know. Like we're going into conference play we're going to the Big House so, it's going to be loud, it's going to be rowdy," said Iowa third year receiver Tony Diaz. "I think we're all excited to get out there and play as a unit. And go out there and play the hardest for longest."

With 16 new starters this season, including special teams, many Hawkeyes will be playing their first meaningful snaps on the road in the biggest stadium in college football. Michigan Stadium, or The Big House, holds 107,000 fans. Most of them will be in Michigan's colors on Saturday, maize and blue.

"I remember when I was in that place, the anticipation of going somewhere new and checking it out and being able to be in a different environment, it's extremely exciting," said Luke Gaffney, a 5th year defensive tackle for the Hawkeyes. ...
