HDFC Bank will be in focus on Tuesday, September 15, after Kaizad Bharucha and Anup Bagchi emerged as the shortlisted internal and external candidates for the chief executive role.
The two names
The board submitted two candidates to the RBI on 12 September, in order of preference, for a three-year term. Those names are now reported as Kaizad Bharucha, the bank's current Deputy Managing Director, as the internal contender, and Anup Bagchi as the external candidate.

Five brokerages published on the bank this week and every one of them framed the internal-versus-external question as the thing that decides the stock. Until now, that debate was being had without names attached.
