For weeks now, the basketball world has been debating whether the NBA came down hard enough on the Los Angeles Clippers over the salary cap circumvention scandal tied to Kawhi Leonard.
Much of that debate has focused on the team and the front office. But now a former Clippers player has jumped into the conversation, and he thinks Leonard himself got off way too easy.
Former Clippers Player’s Comment Regarding Kawhi Leonard
Former NBA player Danilo Gallinari recently shared his thoughts on the controversy during an appearance on the Italian podcast “A Cresta Alta.”
Gallinari did not believe Leonard’s $700,000 fine was enough. Instead, he argued that the Clippers star should have been forced to pay $50 million, with the money going to charity.
“He should pay all of that $50 million. He changed the trajectory of my career and put me in a difficult situation by sending me away from Los Angeles…”
