Help us track election misinformation in Nevada

If there's one consistent factor across elections in Nevada and beyond, it's that misinformation — either accidental or nefarious — pops up every time around Election Day.

That's why The Nevada Independent is partnering with the Center for Media Engagement, a nonpartisan, nonprofit research organization at The University of Texas at Austin, to answer questions from our community and clear up misinformation about elections.

Taking the lead on this Local Election Information Monitoring project is Eric Neugeboren, The Indy's politics and data reporter who (among his many other beats) has done truly excellent work in covering how the state administers elections. We're also taking tips and translating answers into Spanish.

But we need your help. As part of this project, we're testing out a new community tool where readers can tell us about online posts, political mailers or other forms of local election information that might be incorrect or that raises questions. This could include things like social media posts with incorrect information about where to vote, how to vote and election processes.
